Reading is Fundamental! Are you old enough to remember those commercials?
I think reading is just plain fun. Since I’ve retired, I’ve worked on improving and challenging my reading habits. For 2026, I will be participating in The 52 Book Club’s challenge. I’m serious these days about challenges and about journaling, so I needed to make some decisions in order to prepare my reading journal for next year. (Can you believe it’s only a few days until the new year?)
These are my choices so far. However, I reserve the right to change any book at any time. LOL
I source my books, almost exclusively, from the Lake County FL Library System. All but one of my choices is available. That is terrific news for me. #retiredpeopleproblems #notmakingmoremoney
I’m going to share some pictures of my reading journal when I complete the set up. Do you journal your reading? I am also going to post my rating systems for books. As I have said previously, this blog is mostly for me to remember things that are important to me at this point in my life.
I have begun to read the first book for the challenge, Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn. So far, I am enjoying it. In keeping with the spirit of the book challenge, I will not finish the book until January 1, nor will I post any reviews before that day.
I’d love to hear from anyone else doing their own book challenge this year.
